1ª VUELTA ROTARIA A LA ISLA DE FORMENTERA
ROTARY MARINERS OF MADRID, fellowship de reciente creación, ha organizado la:
1ª VUELTA NAUTICA ROTARIA A LA ISLA DE FORMENTERA a beneficio del programa POLIO-PLUS DE ROTARY INTERNATIONAL.
Del 30 de Septiembre al 4 de Octubre de este año, en ocho barcos de distintas categorías y tamaños, desde el Bergantín Goleta CERVANTES SAAVEDRA de Felipe Segovia, de 50 m de eslora hasta los más pequeños de 8,5 m. se hicieron a la mar 51 tripulantes con un objetivo claro: fortalecer su amistad y promocionar apoyo al programa de vacunación de la polio que Rotary Internacional lleva a cavo desde 1985.
Con una participación de 160 personas en total, rotarios y amigos de los Clubes Rotarios de Jávea, Denia, Ibiza y Valencia del D 2203, los clubes de Madrid Las Rozas y Puerta de Hierro (D 2202) y club de Rosas (D 2201), a iniciativa del Comodoro de Mariners Madrid -Carlos Junquera- past-President del Club Rotary Madrid Las Rozas y del Oficial Capitán de la 1ª Vuelta Rotaria a Formentera, el socio rotario de club de Jávea, Jesús de la Rocha Suances, quien coordinó las actividades sobre el terreno así como la singladura de los barcos en el periplo previsto.
La vuelta Náutica fue concebida como una regata no competitiva, navegando con la tranquilidad que el escaso viento les proporcionaba.
La salida se inició con una cena en el Club náutico de Jávea acompañado por los miembros de ese club. En las visitas a la isla de Ibiza fueron acompañados por los miembros del club Ibicenco siendo su secretaria Yolanda Andreoli la encargada de la organización. La llegada y entrega de diplomas se realizó en el puerto de Denia.
El Gobernador del Distrito 2203, Vicente J. Juan y Verdú que ha entregado el “TROFEO A LA AMISTAD ROTARIA” a Bernardo Rabassa Asenjo President of the Events Committee of Rotary Mariners de Madrid, asistió con su esposa Eva a la Comida de Clausura el día 4 de Octubre en el Club Náutico de Denia.
El Rotary club Madrid Ptª de Hierro ofreció como trofeo una maqueta de un precioso Velero que se entrego a Jesús de la Rocha Suances por sus desvelos como capitán de la flota.

From September 30th to October 4th 2009, eight ships of various categories and sizes, from the brigantine CERVANTES SAAVEDRA Felipe Segovia, 50 m in length to the smallest of 8.5 m. it sailed 51 crew members with a clear objective: to strengthen their friendship and support for the program to promote polio vaccination that Rotary International is doing since 1985.
With a participation of 160 people in total, Rotarians and friends of Rotary Clubs in Javea, Denia, Ibiza and Valencia the D 2203, clubs from Madrid Las Rozas and Puerta de Hierro (D 2202) and Club de Rosas (D 2201) , initiated by the Commodore of Madrid-Carlos Junquera Mariners-past-President of Rotary Club Madrid Las Rozas Officer and Captain of the 1st Round Rotary to Formentera, the partner Rotary club in Javea, Jesus de la Rocha Suances, who coordinated the field activities and the voyage of ships in the tour schedule.
Boating Around was conceived as a noncompetitive race, sailing with the peace that gave them little wind.
The output began with a dinner at the Yacht club of Javea along with members of that club. On visits to the island of Ibiza were accompanied by members of the Ibizan club Yolanda Andreoli being the secretary in charge of the organization. The arrival and distribution of diplomas took place at the port of Denia.
District Governor 2203, Vincent J. John and Verdú who has given the "TROPHY FOR THE ROTARIAN FRIENDSHIP " to Bernardo Rabassa Asenjo President of the Events Committee of Rotary Mariners of Madrid, attended with his wife Eva at the closing luncheon on 4th October in the Club Nautico de Denia .
The Rotary club Puerta de Hierro of Madrid offered a trophy as a model of a beautiful sailboat that was given to Jesus de la Rocha Suances for his efforts as captain of the fleet.
